Annapolis, MD -- The
Maryland Anne Arundel County Public School system has recommended
Coulter Video's "INTRICATE MINDS III: Understanding Elementary
School Classmates Who Think Differently" DVD in their new Autism and
Asperger Syndrome awareness and social skills training guide. The
guide is called, "Building Bridges - A Multidisciplinary Team
Approach to Supporting Students with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism
in the Classroom."
This guide is a package of information designed to help educators, community members, parents and
peers understand and support students living with Autism Spectrum
Disorders (ASDs). The guide also includes sample lesson plans and
other materials crafted to help students with ASDs improve their
social skills and interact positively with others.
The school system will be offering the guide for sale to other school
systems via its
www.aacps.org website beginning on
or about November 21, 2008. The guide recommends that the Intricate
Minds III DVD be purchased separately and used with the Building
Bridges materials. Schools interested in further information about
"Building Bridges" should contact Laura Phipps by email at
Lphipps1@AACPS.org.
