(Distributed in the NTSC video
format primarily used in the United States and Canada.*)
These programs can help classmates avoid the trap of ignoring or
teasing kids who have trouble fitting in. Kids who understand the
reasons for “different” students’ actions are much more likely to
accept them socially and include them in activities.
The programs
are designed for students
in elementary grades 3 through 6 and are excellent staff development
tools.
"...the emphasis is on looking beyond the disability for the
student's strengths. This approach is effective, invites empathy,
and discourages classmates from bullying by challenging stereotypes.
A terrific tool for teaching tolerance."

CUSTOMER COMMENTS
"Earlier
in the year we showed Intricate Minds II to my son’s classmates.
I feel the video made a huge difference in how the kids interact
with my son. He has had a very positive year and part of the
reason for that was because the kids were more comfortable knowing
there was a reason why my son did what he did and knowing that there
were cool things about my son if they could get to know him better.
My son and another student did a PowerPoint presentation together
and received perfect scores for it!"

"Thank you for the video. It is awesome! We have a 9 year old boy
with AS and we watched the video as a family. His younger sister,
who is 7 1/2 years old, watched the video with us and it was like a
light bulb went on in her head. She is more empathetic of her
brother's AS and will even ask him if her radio is playing too
loud! Our son is excited to show his class the video this fall at
school and we can't thank you enough for the excellent video."

"I recently purchased your new DVD – Intricate Minds
2. It is a great resource! Thank you SO MUCH for doing
something like this. I have two kids with Asperger Syndrome.
My daughter Anna, who is 11 and has AS, has watched the video
twice. It was so good for her to see the kids with AS who could so
well articulate what they are thinking, how they feel different, and
all of the challenges that they face. It was also very helpful that
you included kids that varied in how they were affected. My son and
my daughter both have AS, but how the AS is evident is different in
both of them."

"I have
been using the Intricate Minds II and III elementary school DVDs for
my graduate students in the School of Education at Long Island
University/CW Post Campus and at presentations I do and support
groups I run. They were SO WELL RECEIVED BY ALL - parents,
students, teachers, and administrators. Good comments, lively
discussion generated – just great! It makes teaching about our kids
so much easier when there are concrete visual examples. Thank you."

"I
would like to thank you for sending Intricate Minds III so quickly.
Even if it had taken weeks to arrive it would have been worth the
wait. I thought that you would like to know how I intend to use
the DVD. I am a special education teacher, the mother of a
sixteen-year-old daughter diagnosed with PDD-NOS, and a Ph.D.
student in the Disability Studies Department at the University of
Illinois at Chicago. I will be using the video in all three of
these areas of my life... We were impressed with the quality of
the filming and sound but more importantly with the accuracy of the
content. My heart sank momentarily when your "expert" began
blabbing but I literally cheered when your narrator interrupted him
and introduced the real experts, the children themselves.
You have it! Intricate Minds has hit the target!"
