Popular Manners DVD Re-released with Subtitles for Deaf Community

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 7, 2007

WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- A popular manners DVD that shows how to act in some of most common social situations has been re-released with subtitles for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, are learning English as a second language, or are visual learners.

"Manners for the Real World: Basic Social Skills" was produced in 2004 by Coulter Video and has been distributed in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

The program covers personal hygiene, conversations, introductions, telephone and Internet use, table manners, behavior for ladies and gentlemen, manners in public, serving as a host, and being a guest. The DVD is appropriate for adults and for children age 10 and above.

The re-released DVD includes the original content, but allows the viewer to choose between two "play" selections on the DVD menu.  One menu item plays the non-subtitled version and the other plays the program with open-captioned subtitles.

The School Library Journal's review of the video reads, in part, "An engaging narrator, wry humor, and an abundance of both positive and negative examples make this refreshingly quirky live-action film the ideal vehicle for conveying the usually dry subject matter. Its instructional objectives are clearly outlined and amusingly met through nine stand-alone segments, each followed by a captioned review..."

The DVD is available from the Coulter Video website: www.coultervideo.com for $29.99 plus shipping and handling.

Coulter Video is an independent video production company based in Winston-Salem, NC.
